GRAYSTONE HOME & SCHOOL CLUB
WHO WE ARE
Graystone Home and School Club (HSC) is a group of parents, teachers, and administrators dedicated to improving the educational opportunities for all students at Graystone Elementary. In addition to providing funds for vital programs and supplemental classroom supplies, the HSC promotes cooperation between parents and faculty, provides opportunities to nurture and strengthen the Graystone community, and encourages an environment where every child can flourish.
The mission of the HSC is to support programs that enhance the learning environment at Graystone. Through donations and fundraising efforts, and with the generous support from Graystone families, the HSC funds various school programs offered to all students such as Science, Community School for Music and Arts, Recess 101, and Project Cornerstone - while also providing classroom and library materials, technology, and safety patrol. Additionally, HSC organizes a number of school community events and fundraisers throughout the year, including Movie Night, Pumpkin Bust, Author Visits, Spirit Wear, Staff Appreciation, Book Fair, and more.
Without volunteers, donations, and fundraising efforts, many of the programs mentioned cannot operate. |

HSC Monthly Meetings
The HSC manages an annual budget and any donations and profits are used toward the expenses for the various programs, events, and materials. HSC meetings are held monthly (Friday mornings) to discuss these items. All members are encouraged to attend and participate. Click here for meeting dates and info.
Membership
HSC Membership is open to all parents and guardians of Graystone students, as well as faculty and staff. There is no cost, however donations are highly encouraged during the Membership Drive.
volunteers
HSC is always looking for volunteers to contribute their time and talents to continue to make Graystone the amazing school it is! Interested in participating? Please check out our Volunteer page here for more information. Also keep an eye out for our emails for volunteer opportunities.
We completely understand finding the time can be a challenge (we struggle with that too!), however, there are options in how much involvement you would need to have. We have various needs throughout the year for smaller projects for those who have limited time and larger ones too!
- Community Events: We always need help to ensure things run smoothly. Jump in! It is fun getting involved and having the chance to get to know our Graystone parents and children better.
- Other: Have an idea of a club we could start or a special "talent" that you could share with our kids? Let's talk and see what's possible.
Interested in joining the Board (as a Lead or co-lead)? Let us know and we can discuss our needs at that time. Questions? Please email graystonepresident@gmail.com.
BECOME AN HSC REPRESENTATIVE
A parent or guardian can volunteer to be the Home & School Club (HSC) representative for their child's class. This is a great opportunity to get a better understanding of all the events, programs, and budget managed by the HSC. The HSC representative attends HSC monthly meetings and distributes monthly High 5's (or other HSC updates as requested) via email to parents in class.
Detailed description: The Home & School Club (HSC) representative attends the monthly HSC meetings (Friday mornings) as well as distributes the monthly High 5's via email to parents/guardians in their child's class. Meeting attendance is not mandatory, but highly encouraged. At the HSC meetings, fellow parents attend, along with the HSC board members, where various upcoming school events and programs are discussed. The High 5's are simply the highlights from the meeting, which will be emailed to the HSC representative from the HSC secretary. As an HSC representative, you can also communicate any information or questions brought to you from a parent to the HSC board at the meeting or via email. Throughout the year, there may be other HSC updates provided to the HSC representative to email to the class.
