Walkathon 2024 | March 29, 2024 | During School Hours

Let's-A-Go! It's Walkathon season! This annual Graystone tradition is a fun and healthy way for students to help the school and have a great time while doing it! This year will feature the exciting Student Raffle, Lap Prizes, Sponsorship Incentives and more! This event will take place during school hours, rain or shine!

Sponsorships

All students are encouraged to raise at least $50 in sponsorships; however, any amount your student raises in sponsorships counts toward their class participation %. The class with the highest sponsorship participation % earns a class TROPHY and ICE CREAM Party! The class that earns the most in Sponsorship $ also wins an Ice Cream Party! Plus, every $50 raised earns (1) automatic ticket entry in Gus's Special Grand Prize drawing (separate from Student Raffle), and the chance to win other prizes and awards. 

 

The Top 10 earners also receive Mario-themed gifts, Graystone swag, and more! Your student already has an online Walkathon Sponsorship page. Simply share the link with friends & family. Here's how:

  1. Go to My Account, then My Forms/Paperwork

  2. Under Fundraising Campaigns, click your child's personal Sponsorship page link

  3. Click on Edit My Student if you would like to add a photo or change your sponsorship goal amount, or update the welcome message.

  4. Click on SHARE THIS PAGE, then EMAIL to send the link to friends & family

 

Oh and if your student raises $50, they will receive this one-of-a-kind "Gus-Mario" decal!

Tickets for the Student Raffle can still be purchased in-person at the Superdome during Raffle hours - Tuesday 3/26 after school and before/after school Wednesday-Friday.

 

T-shirts and raffle ticket pre-orders will be delivered to your oldest child's classroom the week of March 25th. 

 

Volunteer Sign-Up

We need your help! We hope you can spare some time during the day to help make this a memorable event for the kids! Volunteers should check-in at the front office before your shift.

Student Raffle

Do you have any new, unused items you can donate for the Student Raffle? If so, please drop off your items to the front office bin. Some ideas include: board games, arts & crafts supplies, books, candy, Squishmallows, gift cards to Baskin-Robbins, Barnes & Noble, restaurants, etc.  THANK YOU!

 MEMBERSHIP DRIVE 2023/24: STARTS AUGUST 29TH!! 

Graystone’s Largest Fundraiser of the Year!

 

HSC’s mission is to support programs that enhance the learning environment at Graystone Elementary. To reach our goal and fully fund all the 2023-2024 programs, we are asking for a donation of:

 

$395 per student

 
 
You can also donate using the attached form from the 2023-2024 Membership Packet and submit to the front office HSC donation box. 
 
We need everyone’s participation!! During this academic year, HSC is budgeted to spend approximately $520 on each student (or $252,000 total) so that EVERY STUDENT can continue to enjoy our programs, which goes beyond school district funding.
 
The HSC also provides annual funds to each teacher at the start of the year to use toward their classroom
and activities. Your donation will help enable teachers to receive an additional $200, if we hit our fundraising
goal! This investment in our teachers directly benefits our children!

Some examples of what your donations fund: Class Supplies/Library, HSC Events (movie nights, pumpkin bust, etc), Almaden Academy of Music Program, Art, Recess 101, Science, Technology, & Safety Patrol.

Membership Drive Wrap-Up/Donor Acknowledgment: At the end of the drive, a Membership Drive Wrap-Up will be published to highlight the results of the drive, thank participants, and publicly acknowledge Top Donors at the Diamond ($2000+) and Platinum ($1000+) levels. If you DO NOT wish to be acknowledged by name, please check “ANONYMOUS” on the membership drive form.

Corporate Matching

 
Corporate Match Information: Please consult your company for how to submit a match request. All donations and matches should be submitted to our non-profit: Graystone Home and School Club, TAX ID# 94-2429760. Please put your student name(s) in the memo or description field of the match request so we can track your donation and send you a donation receipt for your tax records. Thank you!
 
Many companies use a portal through which charitable donations are made, such as American Online Giving Foundation, Benevity, Blackbaud, Cybergrants/FrontDoor, YourCause, etc.  Some prefer that you make the donation directly through the company website so they can verify the amount donated. Other companies just need a receipt from Graystone HSC to verify your donation via check or cash.

 Memberships

The Graystone Home & School Club consists of a 6-member Executive Board and General Membership representing more than 500 families. We meet monthly throughout the school year, and we encourage members to attend and participate. Graystone membership is open to all parents or guardians of students attending Graystone, as well as teachers & staff.


If you have a student at Graystone (or are part of the faculty or staff), you can become a member of the Graystone Home & School Club. 

A HSC membership, one membership per family, entitles you to:

  • Help make decisions that affect your child’s educational experience
  • Provide feedback to the H&SC on how we can make things better at the school
  • Vote on H&SC Executive Board officers
  • Approve the H&SC’s annual budget
